This was last week. My first time whitewater rafting. In this picture I was in the raft behind but on this rapid I came close to going overboard. Major fun!

M E X I C O
I am in my paradise now. The whales are migrating south and they greet me every morning with there distant exhalations, breech´s and dorsal exposures that are so very beautiful and timeless to witness that I am struck thoughtless and free everytime the event takes place in the otherwise flat ocean. Flat that is except for the perfect peeling waves that shoot left and right with amazing form and grace. And in the refreshing water schools of fish ball up and jump away from unseen predators while spotted stingrays glide underfoot and ocassionally do their own breeching. Flying fish show evolution in kind and endow wonders and imaginations of the otherworldly. I am reading in my hammock and eating coconuts for breakfast, fish for dinner and fruit for lunch mixed in of course with treats of the refined sugar kind and beer, tequila, mezcal, and marijauna.
The other day I held a baby greenback turtle and then witnessed as they instinctively made their way to the breaking surf. I filmed the event but have yet to find a computer to upload the images, the last images my camera ever took before it died in the elements it claimed to be able to handle. Goodbye Olympus, you took shitty pictures and broke too soon.
I will spend christmas here in La Ticla and hope everyone is warm and cozy where they want to be. Take care, Love to all.

This is a simple 5 minute video of the history of oil. If I could eat and stay warm witout losing my soul, humanity, pride and freedom I would. But until we slay this illustrious statue we have erected I will avert to peace and avoid a battle with the damned masses of the lost.

Listen.
Don't have a conversation with someone while listening to this. Find an hour where you are doing stationary work or just wanting to listen, and listen. I will be back, hopefully, in the spring. Survival is on my mind. And laughing in the face of death is just my way of keeping things light. Love ya's.

Peak Oil and Tar Sands. They have come to full light in my conscious and the shock and massive amount of thought one must give them is consuming. I have always thought resources were the real value in the equation, I was not clear on how much there was or what exactly was the most important, but I have recently been enlightened. Please realize the dire situation we are in. Stop believing the newscorps and start listening to your gut. Oil is a non-renewable resource that has helped fuel a growing world we all grew up in and were conditioned relative to that paradigm. We are going to be forced to change because we (the world) are demanding more of what we have less of everyday. So we might as well start NOW! People if you haven't heard or don't know about peak oil, the laws of thermodynamics or the tar sands I recommend you google these things. Or watch the documentary "Collapse" with Micheal Ruppert. Basically we are out of what makes our world grow so fast and keeps food in our bellies. Oil. No more. There is no higher culture we will see from oil. We have reached the crescendo of our civilization. We are entering into another dark age. I'm going surfing. Please go with your eyes open and forward. P.S. For family that want to start a farm please contact me via email. Love you all.

2 baby bears please...
These (there were two) cubs were no bigger than a large house cat. The mother was small and scraggly and looked under nourished. They were right off the side of the logging road. Everyday the crew and I wake, work and head home together seeing nothing but the bush and our beds. Come the weekend if we decide to head into a town it is always surprising to be amongst people, buildings, roads and civilization again. It is a constant and luminous reminder of our nature compared to "the uncarved block" nature "as is". Seeing these wild animals and edible mushrooms, moose, deer, cariboo, trout and century old trees comfort my mind and de-stress my life. These cubs will live everyday of there lives outside, under the stars, without facebook. Think about it. Oh, and this particular mushroom is NOT edible..

Little Birdies
The little chicky was born today or yesterday... It's mother was watching me from a little Aspen a few feet away. When I wiggled the branch the baby lifted it's head and opened it's mouth, otherwise it looked like chewed bubble gum. These, and the open sky, are some of the reasons I do what I do. The bear above was a little cub probably from a brown bear..It had a very blond hue to it's coat. We waited for the mother safe in the confines of the pick-up but she never came. Earlier that day I was startled by a little baby Black bear walking out of the woods 6 feet in front of me. When it saw me it did a little jump and ran off the way it came from.

Plant a tree
Planting has begun. Spring has turned to summer (un-officially of course). The bugs are coming out in full force. We have worked two of our 6 shifts, 11 days in total. We have planted close to 150,000 trees and are going to plant at least 450,000 more before we see the end. My crew is very different this year. It is a mixed bag consisting of 25 year vets age 47 to an 18 year old rookie who just can't figure it out yet. In between there is a 45 year old Czechoslovakian named Miroslav (Miro for short) that lives on a farm without water or electricity and hunts meat to stay alive, he is perpetually drinking vodka and plants 1000 trees a day then lays down and smokes cigarettes. Bruce is my age, about 5 feet tall and constantly positive and filled with energy. He talks like surfer and starts most of his sentences with "Dude, man..." He bounces around shadow boxing in between bag-ups and after planting sometimes goes to the gym. Lori Anne is the 47 year old who has been planting for 25 years. She plants 2000 trees a day consistently, does kung-fu at 1:00 in the morning and talks to herself more than anyone else. I drive to work with these three everyday at 6:30 in the morning and drop them off at the same time at night. I enjoy this crew as they all live in town, are independent and need less baby-sitting than previous years which gives me more time to myself and makes things less stressful. The weather has been good, so far we have kept dry but this week is calling for some rain so we'll see. The rest of the province is hot and mainly dry which means more fires this year so keeping busy for sure. I hope all who read this are well and know that I miss everyone I cannot be with who has helped shape my life thus far. Everyone I've met. So take it easy, enjoy the rituals of life, and try to find the way back to peace and freedom. Love one and all. -Will
